DIY Mixing Explained!

If you're tired of buying juice that you wish you had "more of this" or "more of that", DIY (Do It Yourself) Mixing seems like the perfect route for you!

E-liquid is made up of 4 ingredients:

  • Vegetable glycerin, the thicker ingredient which is the component that creates the vapour production.
  • Propylene glycol, the thinner ingredient which is the component that carries the flavour.
  • Flavour concentrate, which is the flavour you want your e-liquid to taste like.
  • Nicotine, if you so wish to add it.

First off, there are many flavoured concentrate companies. Each are made differently, whether it's a VG based concentrate or a PG based concentrate.

Vampire Vape Concentrates from the UK are what we currently use in-house to make our own flavours. They are all PG based concentrates, easier to mix with straight forward directions.

Let's say you're using a 60mL chubby bottle to create your mix. Vampire Vape concentrates are recommended for 10-20% concentrate per bottle and you wanted to use two concentrates: Heisenberg & Pinkman. Let's use the 20% amount for this example:

Using a syringe; in your empty 60mL chubby bottle:

  • Step 1: Add 6mL of Heisenberg
  • Step 2: Add 6mL of Pinkman
  • This equals a total of 20% of flavoured concentrate

Let's say you wanted to make your e-liquid a standard 70VG/30PG mix. Because the Vampire Vape concentrates are PG based:

  • Step 3: Add 6mL of PG
  • Step 4: Add 42mL of VG

If you're chasing a 50VG/50PG mix:

  • Step 3: Add 18mL of PG
  • Step 4: Add 30mL of VG

Your bottle should now be filled to the top.

If you wish to add nicotine to your mix, make sure this happens before Step 3 and 4 so you don't run of out of space in the bottle and change the amount of PG and VG you add to the bottle.

After capping your bottle and you're happy with your mix, shake the bottle thoroughly for a few minutes. You want to see a lot of air bubbles throughout the mix. Those bubbles will eventually raise to the top, mixing everything together.

Fruit flavoured mixes usually need a steep time of 2-5 days for the best result. Dessert flavoured mixes usually need a steep time of 7-14 days for the best result.

When steeping, place in a dark cupboard. Do not place your fresh mix in direct sunlight. This will potentially alter and ruin the whole flavour all together.

After the steeping process, your juice is completed and ready to vape!
